THANK YOU to everyone who has made donations. It has truly been so amazing hearing from you all and I really appreciate your donations. I am almost there with only about $300 to go, so please, if you have any friends or family who may be interested in helping out, please let them or me know! I will be sure to update this site frequently and once I return, post my pictures for everyone to see. It will surely be an amazing trip and experience!
UPDATE: OUR FLIGHTS ARE SCHEDULED! We leave Sunday, November 27, fly into Houston, stay over night and get into Honduras by 12pm the next day. I am so excited to see our itinerary already set!

THANK YOU-1st Payment Completed!
Hello everyone,
GRACIAS POR SUS DONATIVOS!
I just wanted to say a public THANK YOU to those who have already donated and helped me along my way and thought I should brush up on my Spanish skills! I am truly grateful for your donation and it has already been put to good use. Today, our flights to Honduras were booked so that we were ensured a good price and each dollar that has been donated helped me to be able to pay for this flight.
Our total payment is due Friday, October 29 with some medical expenses for vaccinations coming up within the month. Remember, EVERY PENNY COUNTS (literally)! If you have any friends or family that may be interested in donating, please forward them this link or let me know their email and I will send them a personal email with more information.
I am so excited that our flights have been booked and that I am one step closer to going on this trip. Honduras- Here I come!

PLEASE AND THANK YOU
Welcome to my site!
From November 29-December 7, 2010, I will be participating in a trip with an organization called "Project Z" to help build a K-12 school in the impoverished community of Zurzular. The children in this village do not have access to education beyond 6th grade due to unavailable modes of transportation to bring the to the high school miles away. Together, myself and other DePaul School of Education Graduate Students will help to build a school for these children and give them all an opportunity at learning past the 6th grade level.
For the past year, I have been working on my M.A. in Elementary and Special Education and will complete my program in June, 2011. I believe this experience will not only contribute to my learning to be a better educator, but also further inspire me to continue supporting students and children from low economic backgrounds.
In order to participate in this fantastic opportunity, I am asking for financial support from friends and family. My trip expenses include airfare, safe lodging and meals.
